The Introduction:
Only the fearless survive in the white-hot world of street racing, as teams take on dangerous roads in the shadow of Mt. Akina. Behind the wheel of the mysterious "Ghost of Akina" is Takumi, on his way to becoming the greatest racer ever.

The Initial D manga series made its debut in 1996 and is currently serialized in Japan in the weekly Young Magazine. In addition, 24 volumes have been released so far in tankoubon (graphic novel) form by Kodansha.

The story also formed the foundation for an extremely long-running and popular anime franchise in Japan: a TV show produced by Avex ran for 39 episodes over 2 seasons from 1998-2000; there were also two OVA episodes and a theatrical movie release, as well.

This Volumes Story:
It's sheer motor madness as the match between Tohru's Miata and Tak's Trueno race to the edge of excitement. Tak makes a major maneuver to give him the upper hand but Tohru won't let the victory slip away that easily. As the two hurtle down the streets neck-and-neck at break-neck speeds, K.T. sets up for his uphill battle against Jonrou Kawai.

The Creators: Shuichi Shigeno
